SURREY LIBRARIES AND BROOKLANDS RADIO
READING ALOUD COMPETITION

Sunday 24th December 4.30pm
Susie Maguire reads 'Twas the Night Before Christmas

And the winner is

Congratulations to Susie Maguire, nominated by Karen Dorling, the winner of the first Brooklands Radio and Surrey Libraries Reading Aloud competition. Susie impressed the judges with her recording, reading aloud 'The Book with No Pictures by B. J. Novak. Susie's recording of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas by Clement Clarke Moore will be broadcast on Brooklands Radio at 4.30 pm on Christmas Eve.

The Reading Aloud competition has revealed a wealth of talent in Surrey, amongst children and adults, for reading stories aloud. In the last two months we have received 48 fantastic nominations and listened to 10 wonderful recordings from our shortlisted nominees. It was incredibly difficult to whittle the 48 down to a shortlist of 10 and even more difficult to select a winner from their brilliant recordings. It really was a pleasure to be entertained by these wonderful readers.

Check back here for a link to Susie's recording of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas which will be available throughout the Christmas period. Happy listening!

If this inspires you to read a Christmas story yourself, please pop into any one of our 52 libraries where you can borrow something seasonal or ask our lovely staff for a recommendation. Please check our holiday opening times before you leave home.
