The Plastic Watchdog is Brooklands Radio's Eco Warrior - fighting to rid the world of plastic polllution.
The human race create and use enormous amounts of plastic - from disposable coffee cups to chewing gum to juice
bottles to front doors to gadgets to synthetic clothes to micro beads in shampoo and so on. The stuff is everywhere.
Much of this plastic cannot be recycled and ends up in landfill or dumped in rivers and then travels out to the open sea.
You might think this plastic will disappear in the oceans but there is so much of it that it is now everywhere from the
Arctic to the tropics to the most remote places on earth.
We make about 300 million tonnes of plastic each year and about half of
that is single use plastics. About 8 million tonnes each year is estimated to end up in the oceans.
We must stop this.
