Road Closures
While we love the biggest sporting event in Surrey's calendar, we know the road closures can be a bit of a nightmare! So Brooklands Radio are here to help with regular travel updates throughout the weekend, live on air. You can also check through our list of road closures below to help you plan the weekend ahead. The Closures
The roads that make up the route in Surrey will begin to close from 05:00 (applying to the majority of the route). This is to allow time for barriers to be installed, safety checks to be carried out and stewards and volunteers to get in place. Once the riders have made their way through, the roads will be opened around the route. A rolling closure will then be put in place for the professional race in the afternoon. For more information and planned times, visit the official Ride London page: www.prudentialridelondon.co.uk/Info_Hub/Road_Closures.htmMain Roads
The A3 will be open all day, although the junctions at Esher Common, Coombe Lane and Tibbet's Corner will be closed. The A244 at Walton is closed between 07:00-11:30. A short rolling closure between 14:00-14:30 will permit the professional race to pass safely.
The A246 will be open all day between West Horsley and Young Street, giving access to the east side of Leatherhead town centre via Hawk's Hill.
The M25 is open as normal and the A29 is not used for the event.
Bus Services Affected by the Road Closures
Extensive road closures (some all day, some only at certain times) will require some bus services to be either withdrawn or curtailed. This will affect a larger area than just the event route.Go to http://new.surreycc.gov.uk/roads-and-transport/buses-and-trains/bus-timetable-changes/temporary-changes-to-bus-services- and-road-closures/bus-services-affected-by-the-prudential-ride-london-event for further details
